Project Description

We, Olympus, are the platform that will allow you to turn traditional web2 games into web3 games with all the properties that this entails.

It is the perfect place for those who want to enjoy a tournament with their friends, those who want to play together with their favourite streamer, and those who want to become an E-Sports professional. But not only for gamers, but also the ideal place for those who want to promote their brand by creating a tournament with prizes, or for investors who want to invest in future E-Sports legends.

The implementations in the hackathon are of the contracts for the functionalities related to Tournaments and Rankings.

  • Tournaments: Between 2 to 200 or more teams will be able to face each other to dispute prizes at stake that will come out either from an entry price or from the tournament organiser. Also from the daily issuance of the Olympus token.
  • Rankings: Players compete weekly in Rankings in which, without paying anything, they opt for prizes.

The following to implement would be

  • NFT Patronage System: Through NFTs, players can finance themselves by selling part of the shares of their performance and generating passive income for investors. In this way they have more tokens to access better tournaments that will also give them more exposure.
  • NFT Show Off: Allows you to save the best plays of the players, and also buy those of the professionals, which will be limited. This is another way to monetise for players.

**Situation The interest in the video game world has exponentially increased over the years. Many teams are being supported by big brands (such as PepsiCo or Disney). Video games and players gain a lot of visibility thanks to the streamers. A constantly growing ecosystem that is becoming content as a service for a big community that does not stop growing.

**Problem Players need to spend an enormous quantity of their time to become professional players. Unfortunately, without any payback, neither visibility from other teams and brands. It is difficult to monitor a player's performance for a team due to the possibility of the player creating more than one account and also paying others to play for him. The majority of players play alone willing to be part of a team in the near future. At the moment, just the already “famous” and powerful people/organizations can create new ESports teams. Leaving the rest of the people without any option of being part of the cake. The ESports fans do not have the possibility to participate in important decisions but only in some special situations. No voting power. Investors have only a limited set of options to invest in players and support them with their professional careers not only focusing on teams.

**Implication The lack of an economical compensation makes it difficult to dedicate the necessary time to improve and become a professional player. The lack of visibility, no matter how good it may be, causes players to become discouraged and leave the game, or at least lower performance and hours played. There is a gap between the fans and the teams and players that can be bridged. The fans want to feel closer and closer to the teams and the players that make them up Investors are looking for a way to finance professional player careers and improve the level and spectacle for the audience. Also the retail.

**Solution Our solution goes through different points:

  1. Giving the player a way to monetise his performance through different mechanisms, while giving himself visibility through statistics and rankings.
  2. Also giving the same advantages to the teams, which will be able to form simply and easily and compete in tournaments.
  3. Enabling investors to invest in new or established teams, and also allowing them to invest in the future career of the players.
  4. Giving brands the opportunity to enter and organise private competitions and invest in teams and players.

In short, it consists of filling the gaps found in the industry using the properties provided by premium blockchain technology.

**Outreach At Olympus, we believe in a gaming ecosystem where all the actors participate, from the players, who are the base, to the fans, the teams, the brands, and the investors, cooperate to make profits while competing with each other in a transparent and fair way.

How it's Made

It is a foundry project built from scratch with the help of an scaffold. We have written the Smart Contracts in Solidity and the Frontend that we have made with NextJS. We have also used Chainlink for off-chain services.

Sponsor Tech:

  • POLYGON: we have deployed the platform in Polygon's blockchain
  • PUSH Protocol: notify users when we create a new tournament
  • POCKET: used their RPC NODE
  • KLAYTN: As it's EVM compatible we have have deployed the platform in there. -RIPIO: We check our token's balance and in the near future we will launch more requests to the blockchain
