Project Description

Ever wonder what it would feel like to enter an interactive virtual space where you could design NFTs with others and view or showcase inspiring NFT artworks, all under one platform? NFT & Chill provides a way to display, interact, and create your own NFTs as a commodity or as part of a wider NFT space--a collective ground for expression that goes beyond a virtual "white cube" gallery simulation.

The platform allows users to create customized works within various "frameworks" of their choosing. As a testament to postmodern and eco-conscious design, artists can up-cycle real vintage frames that are traditionally used for mirrors or paintings and embed their own digital art within them. The various frames could be static or non-static, depending on the design and vision of the creator(s), and could be shown in a virtual "Salon-style" hall.

Such a display of works would provide unique phenomenological experiences for those interacting with art NFTs by offering opportunities for active, cerebral interactions. Furthermore, in order to reduce the ecological impact of NFTs, all works created on the platform would follow "lazy-minting" principles. Thus, by allowing users to use customizable NFTs and frames, and see NFT portfolios in a different light, we seek to redefine the notion of art in a virtual context.

How it's Made

As individuals with art and design backgrounds, we feel that there is a need and desire for people to connect with NFTs in a way that goes beyond an NFT marketplace. That's where the "chilling" component comes in.

Since we do not have computer science backgrounds, we did not create a prototype. However, we envision our proposal to be viable as an interface. As such, we presume that this format would be a ERCC1155. The platform would likely need to be developed using Solidity and other softwares.
