NFT-ifying certifications and credentials
Project Description
While most of the attention is focused now on NFT art and NFT collectibles, this project tries to explore practical applications of NFTs beyond these categories.
Accredit tries to solve the problem of credentialing and certifications by using NFTs and blockchains. Fake licenses and degrees are a problem. One study estimated that there are thousands of people practicing medicine today with fake degrees.
With Accredit, we want to take the fragmented and fraud-filled world of diplomas and licenses and streamline the whole system.
How it's Made
Wanted to use this opportunity to learn how to set up a dev environment for developing on ethereum. So used solidity and the openzeppelin 721 contracts to write the credentials smart contract, Vuejs front end for viewing the NFTs and a rails backend to store the metadata for the NFT.
